Go Ask Alice by Anonymous

"It started when she was served a soft drink laced with LSD is dangerous party game. Within months, she was hooked, trapped in a downward spiral that took her from her comfortable home and loving family to the mean streets of an unforgiving city. It was a journey that would rob her of her innocence, her youth, and ultimately her life." -Blurb from Go Ask Alice

I highly recommend this book. I have never done drugs, and I don't know anything about them really. However, this book opened my eyes about how much trouble they can get a person in. The writer of the diary went through so much in only the span of a year and a half. She faced people slipping her drugs without her knowing, causing her to become an addict. She was raped, abused, and bullied. She never really seemed to find her rightful place in the world. Her struggles opened my eyes and strengthened my desires to stay way from drugs.

I honestly had no clue that some people's lives were this awful. I knew that they could be bad, but I had no idea that they could be THAT bad...

I recommend this book to everyone! It is a great book to learn about drug awareness.

It Happened to Nancy by An Anonymous Teenager (A True Story From Her Diary)

"Fourteen-year-old Nancy thinks she's found true love with Collin, a handsome college student. She trust him completely, but he rapes her and leaves her infected with the HIV virus. As the virus ravages her body, Nancy pours out her deepest feelings to her diary - from the romance of first love to the cruel realities of AIDS.

Near the end of her life, Nancy decided to make her private thoughts public, in the hope of saving others from the same tragic fate. This is her diary." - Blurb from It Happened to Nancy

Every teenager and even adult should read this book. It brings AIDS awareness to another WHOLE level. Not only that, but it also teaches you the importance of being careful about who you trust. It teaches you the importance of friends and family.

As I read this book I felt everything "Nancy" felt. I felt her desires, her pain, and her love. "Nancy's" book is an eye-opener.

Thank you "Nancy" for your caring heart. You will never be forgotten.

THERE WILL NEVER BE
ANOTHER NANCY

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks

"When Savannah Lynn Curtis comes into his life, John Tyree knows he is ready to turn over a new leaf. An angry rebel, he had enlisted in the army after high school, not knowing what else to do. Then, during a furlough, he meets Savannah, the girl of his dreams. The attraction is mutual and quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah vowing to wait for John while he finishes his tour of duty. But neither can foresee that 9/11 is about to change the world. Like so many proud men and women, John must choose between love and country. Now, when he finally returns to North Carolina, John will discover that loving Savannah will force him to make the hardest decision of his life." -Blurb from Dear John

This book was INCREDIBLE. I loved every twist and turn. Definitely a MUST read. It has romance and even a little action. It's definitely a sad book, but the ending is sooooo moving! It just shows what true love REALLY IS! Nicholas Sparks, you never cease to amaze me! :)

"Dear John," the letter read. And with those two words,
a heart was broken and two lives change forever.

House By Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti

House is a book of mind-bending mystery and supernatural terror. With odd twists and turns this book keeps you on the edge of your seat and sometimes even puts you straight up on your feet.

This book was recommended to me by my English teacher (probably one of the top fans of Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker). She insisted that I read it. I had been eying it a lot and I just wasn't sure I had the time to read it. Over my Christmas break I finally grabbed and sat down to read it.

It had been months since I had found a book that I just couldn't put down. I tried to read it as often as I could. Finally it got to the point where I just refused to put it down. I read for four hours straight one night from 8:30-12:30, getting lost in the world that is House. Big mistake. I will recommend that you don't read this book at night. It is somewhat frightening and it will keep you up for the next few hours after you finally put it down hearing noises and seeing things.

House is about a man (Jack) and his wife (Stephanie). Their marriage is going down the drain all because of the accidental death of their daughter Melissa. Ever since then Jack has blamed the death of their daughter on Stephanie. It was at the "House" that they learned how to work together, settle their differences, and be a real married couple once again. This book is an eye-opener, and can change your life forever. This book will teach you lessons that you will never forget. Take the leap. Jump into the House, and play the game.

Welcome to my House...
House Rules:

1) God came to my house and I killed him.
2) I will kill anyone who comes to my house as I killed God.
3) Give me one dead body and I might let rule two slide.
